Life Update.

It has been far too long.

So, here are a few snaps from life over the past few… months? I kid. But here are a few shots from this past weekend. Saturdays & Sundays off = the best thing ever.

Rural Roots

It’s that time again… junk hunting time!

Actually, it just happened to be a beautiful day which Brian and I had off together. On a sunny day we were headed to Queensland beach for some rays with our dearest friend Desiree. Check out her fashion/life blog at http://www.theimpossiblegirl.blogspot.com/ !

She’s pretty wicked and we had an amazing time playing host to her for a few days so more posts are to follow.

On our way home from the beach we came across this little gem called Rural Roots. This great shop is located  at 7037 St Margaret’s bay Road, Boutiller’s Point NS and is host to a plethora of nic nacs and antiques.

We strongly suggest checking it out. Here are just a few snaps from our stop.

Now with our move coming up (to Toronto) we’ve had to be good so less hoarding is good. But I am so tempted. How many floral tins can a boy have? NEVER ENOUGH.

Mint. Muddlers. Mojitos.

Tis’ the season folks! It has been glorious in Halifax the past few days and to celebrate summer, Brian and I invested in the makings for mojitos. Ever since our trip to Cuba I have been in love with this refreshing cocktail and to me, nothing says summer like mojitos on the deck.

It’s a bit of a sticky mess to make but oh-so-worth it.

Ours had:

1 1/2 ounces white rum, 2 tbsps sugar, 7-10 large mint leaves, a splash of lime juice, ice and club soda to top it off.

I like them minty minty minty so I added extra leaves and muddled them like a mad man.

Does that not look like the epitome of refreshment? I think so. I am having serious cravings right now. They were enjoyed into the wee hours that night and will be enjoyed on many more summer nights to come.
